What an engagement is scoped against, not a result we have produced. The last one stays hard — retailer pages are not ours to write.

Illustrative panel for a K-beauty sunscreen brand. The brand names in both states are invented; the mechanism is real, and yours is built from your own category and market.

Most brands exporting out of Asia are not in that answer, and the ones that are usually got there by accident. Either way you now know something about your own brand that no page could have told you — and you did not give anyone your email to find out.

This is the shelf now.

best Korean sunscreen for oily skin

For oily skin the three that come up most consistently are Seolwha review round-up, Baekje Lab reddit thread and Nuri Skin retailer page. All three use chemical filters, sit matte, and are easy to buy outside Korea.

Haruwell is not in that answer. It has the better filter and the clinical data — but the model read a round-up, a forum thread and a retailer page, and Haruwell is on none of them. The brands and the three sources are invented; the mechanism, and the sources strip an assistant prints under its answer, are real.

And the click you used to get instead is going away. Pew tracked 68,879 Google searches across 900 US adults: when an AI summary appeared, people clicked a result on8% of searches, against 15% when it did not. That traffic does not reroute to you. It stops happening — and the brand named inside the summary absorbs the intent you were paying to reach.

Why cross-border brands lose

Why does the answer skip your brand?

A model answers from what it can read about your category. An exporting brand is correct where it controls the page, and at the mercy of whoever wrote the rest.

How many you write

1/7is a page you controlThe other six decide the shortlist.
You write one of these seven. Two more you can get corrected. Four are written by other people, and an English answer is assembled almost entirely from English sources — which is why the last row matters: a decade of reviews already exists in Korean, and the answer your US buyer reads was written without any of it. Which rows apply to you is what an audit establishes. The last four rows are the work.

The engagement

How long before the number moves?

  1. Month 0

    200 observations

    Measure

40 questions across 5 engines. Your baseline, and the instrument every later month is read against.

  2. Month 1–2

    30–60 days to move

    Fix

Access, entity and liftable passages. On-site work depends on nobody else, so it lands first.

  3. Month 3–6

    3–6 months

    Corroborate

Getting the facts right where the model reads. Slower, because it needs other people to publish or correct something.

Windows we scope engagements against, not measured averages — Searchd has run no client panels.

One number

Named rate, and what moving it looks like.

How many of your 40 questions produce an answer containing your brand, on each of the five engines. The board on the left is where most exporting brands start; the one on the right is what the work is for.

Illustrative, and carrying no rate on purpose. Both boards are 40 questions on each of five engines. Neither is a result Searchd has produced, and we do not print a target percentage here, because a scoped number would be a target dressed as evidence. The right-hand board stays thinnest on AI Overviews because it assembles from retailer pages, which are not ours to write. Our own board is on the results page, and every cell on it is empty.

Searchd's own board is published monthly on the results page. It is currently empty — 0 of 200 — and we publish it anyway, whichever way it moves.

None of them is a page you control today. Every one of them is a page an answer gets written from — some you can correct, some you can only be corroborated on.

Considered purchases, sold abroad — categories where a shopper reads before buying and an assistant answers first. The product shots are generated, unbranded stand-ins for the category, not anyone’s product. The questions and the surfaces are both illustrative — the shape of what a panel finds, not a measurement. Yours is built from your own catalogue and market.

What you are entitled to expect

What can anyone actually promise?

Not a citation. Google states in its own documentation that no third-party tool has access to its ranking or AI systems, so every visibility number sold in this category is an outside estimate. The promise has to attach to the layer we control, and weaken honestly as it moves away from it.

  1. 01Guaranteed

    Access and extractability

Whether an engine can fetch you, render you, and lift a passage out of you. Our work decides the result and a re-test proves it either way.

    • Crawler and edge policy, fetched from outside your network
    • Complete in raw HTML, with real links and stable anchors
    • Index and snippet eligibility, canonical, sitemap
    • One entity string everywhere, resolved in schema

The audit invoice is cancelled if it surfaces no cause here you could not reasonably have found yourself.

  2. 02Committed

    Answer coverage and evidence

Whether the passage an engine needs exists at all, on your site and off it. We control what ships. We do not control what gets chosen.

    • Question-headed passages that survive being pulled out
    • Specification, dates and sourcing stated visibly
    • Comparison and fit pages for the questions buyers ask
    • Independent corroboration where models actually read

A volume, agreed before kickoff and reported against monthly.

  3. 03Measured

    Whether the engine names you

Engine behaviour. Nobody controls it, nobody has access to it, and anyone who quotes you a citation guarantee is selling you a number they cannot reach.

    • Named rate on a panel frozen before kickoff
    • Who was named instead, and on which sources
    • Assistant referrals in your own analytics
    • Every factual error an engine stated about you

Reported, never promised. The retainer stops billing at day 90 if the number has not moved past your noise floor.

The three tiers are how the work is priced and what the guarantees attach to. The one thing no provider anywhere can guarantee is the third, which is why we publish it monthly instead — including our own, which reads zero.

Does any of this actually work?

When 1,885 pages added schema markup, their AI citations rose 43%. Matched pages that changed nothing rose almost as much. The honest figure is +2.4% — and on Google's AI Overviews it was negative.

Common questions

Every question below is answered against the same five engines, every month, on the same fixed panel.

  • Perplexity
  • Claude
  • Gemini
  • Google AI Overviews

How is this different from SEO we already tried?

SEO competes for a position in a list of ten. AEO competes for inclusion in one paragraph that names a shortlist. Ranking rewards depth and links; citation rewards passages that survive being pulled out of the page.

How do you measure it?

40 questions, 5 engines, every month — 200 observations against a fixed baseline. Moves inside your measured noise floor are labelled noise, not progress. Full method on the how-it-works page.

How long until I see something?

We scope on-site work at 30 to 60 days and off-site corroboration at 3 to 6 months, and report the two separately. Those are the windows we plan engagements against, not measured averages — Searchd has run no client panels.

What if an AI states something wrong about our product?

When an assistant gets an SPF value or an age range wrong, it states the wrong number with the same confidence as a right one. For a regulated product that is your compliance owner’s problem, not marketing’s. Every report lists each error we found and the source it came from.
