Qualified brands · first 90 days

30% more organic traffic in 90 days, or we work free until we get there.

The full terms, with the formula and a worked example. This page is written so your finance lead can check our arithmetic without us in the room.

What exactly does SearchD guarantee?

SearchD guarantees that a qualified brand's US organic traffic is at least 30% higher in days 63 to 90 than in the 91 days before Day 0, adjusted for season. If it is not, the brand pays no management fee and SearchD keeps doing the same work until it is.

The guarantee, in four dates

  1. Day 0You give access. We freeze and hash your 91-day baseline.
  2. Day 63–90The measurement window, compared with the baseline and adjusted for season.
  3. Day 97We send the scorecard. You do not have to ask.
  4. Below 30%?No management fee. We keep working until you reach it.

Qualified brands, first 90 days of the first engagement.

What counts as organic traffic?

Organic traffic, for this guarantee, is Qualifying Visits: US non-branded organic clicks from Google Search Console, plus US engaged sessions in GA4 that arrive from AI assistants. Both are read from your own accounts, not from a tool of ours.

  • Non-branded means total US clicks minus the clicks whose query matches a brand-term list. You approve the list on Day 0, and it does not change after that.
  • AI assistants are these referrers, and only these: chatgpt.com (including utm_source=chatgpt.com), chat.openai.com, perplexity.ai, gemini.google.com, copilot.microsoft.com, claude.ai.
  • Google AI Overviews and AI Mode are not on the AI list. Search Console already counts their clicks as Google search clicks, so adding them would count the same visit twice.

How does SearchD measure it?

SearchD compares the daily average of Qualifying Visits in days 63 to 90 with the daily average of the 91 days before Day 0, then divides by the same comparison one year earlier to remove the season. The target is an Adjusted Lift of 1.30 or more.

  • Day 0 is the day you give us all access, not the day you sign.
  • Baseline is the 91 days before Day 0.
  • Measurement window is days 63 to 90.
  • Adjusted Lift = (window ÷ baseline) ÷ (the same two calendar windows one year earlier).
Worked example
StepDaily averageRatio
This year: baseline → window40 → 5656 ÷ 40 = 1.40
Last year: same calendar windows40 → 4242 ÷ 40 = 1.05
Adjusted Lift1.40 ÷ 1.05 = 1.33. Passes.

On Day 0 we export the three Search Console windows that already exist (this year's baseline, and last year's baseline and window), hash the files and send them to you. The day-90 scorecard adds the fourth window, exported the same way, so neither side can change the starting point afterwards.

Which brands qualify for the guarantee?

A brand qualifies when all three tests below are true. SearchD checks them on the first call, from your own Search Console and GA4, before anything is signed.

  1. At least 3,000 Qualifying Visits in the baseline. Below that, a 30% change is a few visits a day and too small to tell from chance.
  2. At least 15 months of Search Console history. The seasonality adjustment compares with the same calendar weeks a year earlier, so those weeks have to exist.
  3. A noise floor below 15%. We run the same formula on four past 28-day windows with no work in them. If your traffic already swings more than 15% on its own, a 30% target cannot be read cleanly.

What does the client need to do?

The client gives access, approves work on time and warns us before large changes. The guarantee depends on all four:

  • Give Search Console, GA4 and CMS access within 5 business days.
  • Approve the brand-term list on Day 0.
  • Approve our work within 5 business days, and merge technical fixes within 10.
  • Give 14 days' notice before a migration, a tracking change, a new SEO vendor or a large new non-brand ad campaign.

What changes the dates or ends the guarantee?

Events outside SearchD's control either move the measurement window or end the guarantee. The full list is below, and it goes into the agreement in these words.

EventEffect
A site migration, redesign or domain changeA new 90-day period starts 30 days after the change.
A confirmed Google core update during the windowThe window moves past the update, by 45 days at most.
Late client approvalsThe window moves one day for each business day late. After 20 business days late in total, the guarantee ends.
Downtime, noindex or robots blocks the client causesThe guarantee ends.
A Google manual action SearchD did not causeThe guarantee ends.
The client changes trackingThe AI-assistant part counts at its baseline value.
The client removes SearchD work or buys spam linksThe guarantee ends.
Products behind more than 20% of non-branded landing pages go out of stock, or US sales stopThe guarantee ends.
A second engagement, or days after the first 90Not covered. The guarantee applies to the first 90 days of the first engagement only.

What does "work free" mean?

"Work free" means that if Adjusted Lift is below 1.30 at day 90, SearchD charges no management fee and keeps doing the same work until it reaches 1.30. There is no time limit on that free period.

  • We send the scorecard by day 97. You do not have to ask for it.
  • Third-party costs, such as paid articles or directory fees, are billed at cost.
  • There is no cash refund.
  • You can leave at any time.

What if we sell mostly on Amazon?

For a brand that sells mainly on Amazon, SearchD counts Amazon Attribution clicks from links we place, plus non-branded visits to the brand's own site. The target is a fixed number written into the proposal rather than +30%, because the Amazon part starts near zero and a percentage of almost nothing means nothing.

Why does the guarantee count traffic and not sales?

SearchD guarantees traffic because traffic is what our work controls: whether Google and AI assistants find and recommend your pages. Price, stock and checkout decide whether a visit becomes a sale, and those are yours. A guarantee on sales or rankings would promise something we cannot move.

Common questions

Is there a cash refund if you miss?

No. If Adjusted Lift is below 1.30 at day 90, the management fee stops and we keep doing the same work, free, until it reaches 1.30. Third-party costs such as paid articles or directory fees are still billed at cost.

Can we leave during the 90 days or the free period?

Yes. You can give notice at any time, and there is no minimum term. Leaving ends the guarantee.

Do we have to ask for the scorecard?

No. SearchD sends the day-90 scorecard by day 97, with the four Search Console exports and the arithmetic, whether the result is a pass or a miss.

Does the guarantee cover sales or rankings?

No. It covers organic traffic only. Price, stock and checkout decide a sale, and SearchD controls none of them.
